Report: Man battered, robbed in drive-thru
A Cape Coral man was robbed of his prescription medications Tuesday while in the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant, according to a police report.
The man told police that two men battered him in the parking lot of an eatery, located in the 900 block of Cape Coral Parkway East. The report states that the men took a $200 bottle of Methadone and $180 bottle of Oxycodone that the victim had just picked up from a nearby pharmacy.
According to the report, the two men approached the victim while he went through the drive-thu lane. One robber approached the driver’s side door and grabbed the victim by the neck, while the other man grabbed a bag containing the medications from inside the victim’s vehicle.
The two men entered a small, two-door green vehicle and fled the scene westbound on Southeast 27th Terrace East, the report states. The victim did not call police from the scene, instead deciding to drive to the police station. The man filed a report with the Cape police at the station.
The victim reportedly had minor bruises and cuts on his face and arms.
According to the report, the robbers are described as Hispanic, both about 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds. One man was wearing a blue shirt at the time of the incident, and the other man had on a brown shirt.
The victim was unavailable for comment Wednesday afternoon.
