To the editor:

I would like to share with the community my sadness over the loss of our beloved exercise class at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal church in Bokeelia. For many years those sessions provided women of all faiths to come together in a great fellowship of warmth and caring, as we stretched and danced our way to physical and spiritual wellness. We were indeed blessed to have our instructor, Phyllis, who gave of her time most generously.

We shared good news and bad; gave support and friendship when it was sorely needed. Thus we were greatly privileged to enjoy unique relationships with friends who are full time residences of Pine Island, as well as those from the north. Besides expressing my regret for the loss of our beloved exercise group, I would be remiss if I failed to thank Father Michael Hughes for understanding and appreciating the need for this group to exist. Thank you, Father Michael for your unfailing support all these years.
