Bank robbery suspect arrested
Lee County deputies have arrested the man responsible for the bank robbery at the Bank of America located at 13099 South Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers.
Robert Wickham, DOB 12-15-66, was arrested shortly before 5 p.m. on March 9, 2010 as he left his residence in the 5400 block of 7th Avenue in Pine Manor. Lee County robbery detectives recognized Wickham from the bank’s surveillance video. They staked out Wickham’s neighborhood and arrested him without incident when he walked out of his front door.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10:44 a.m. the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a bank robbery at the Bank of America located at 13099 S. Cleveland Avenue, Fort Myers.
A man walked up to a teller and stated “This is a robbery.” He then told her to give him her money. The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of currency.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’5″, slender build, late 20’s or early 30’s. He was wearing a dark ball cap, a blue and white shirt with horizontal stripes, and blue jeans. The suspect left the scene in a light blue older model Jeep Cherokee which was located unoccupied in the area of 5th and Palm Streets in Pine Manor shortly after the incident.
