As part of the Del Prado Boulevard improvement project from Kismet Parkway to State Road 78 / Pine Island Road, motorists should be on alert for a permanent road closure. Starting Monday, March 15, crews will permanently close Northeast 9th Street west of Del Prado Boulevard to local traffic. Motorists may access Northeast 9th Street by traveling west onto Northeast 10th Street and south on Northeast 14th Avenue.
Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist motorists traveling through the area. Construction on this section of roadway is scheduled to take place Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
While traveling through the work zone, motorists are urged to use caution, obey the posted speed limit of 35 mph, and seek alternate routes whenever possible. Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances and weather may affect the schedule.
