To the editor:

Once before we have expressed our sincere thanks to the people of the islands for their ongoing support of the Pine Island Food Pantry through their donations of the $10 coupons they receive at WInn-Dixie. We hope that with another reminder of how these coupons help the Food Pantry, that we can reach our northern friends and visitors and they will join our islanders with their donations.

Each week, as groceries are purchased at the Winn-Dixie to stock the Food Pantry, we are able to use the $10 off coupons donated by friends, neighbors and islanders who cannot make use of the coupons themselves. This is huge benefit to the Food Pantry, as we buy large quantities and can use the discounts on our purchases.

The volunteers and recipients of your generosity, want you to know how much your coupons are appreciated. For those of you who drop them off in the food box at Winn-Dixie, we want you to know they are a big help in our shopping and give us money off on all our purchases. It’s just like handing us a personal $10 check each time you drop a coupon into the food collection box.
