Cecelia C. McLaughlin
Cecelia C. McLaughlin, 96, of Arcadia, wife of the late William McLaughlin, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at her residence, Arcadia Oaks Assisted Living Facility.
Born in Sandwich, Mass., Dec. 8, 1913, Cecelia came to Arcadia in 1972 from Bernhards Bay, N.Y., where she was a teacher in the North Syracuse School System, and previously in the Oneida Public School System. After moving to Arcadia she worked as a resource teacher for the DeSoto County Public Schools.
She was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church and a member of The National Council of Catholic Women.
She lived briefly in Bokeelia on Pine Island and was a member of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church.
Cecelia is survived by her son, Jim of Pine Island; daughter, Peggy of Bristol, R.I.; and grandson, Will McLaughlin of Hollywood, Calif.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in the Chapel at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Arcadia at 11 a.m., March 4, followed by a private, family prayer service at the Memory Garden outside the Chapel.
