Stranger Danger in Bonita Springs

By Staff | Feb 26, 2010

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in an attempted abduction.

On Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to 15291 Latitude Drive, Bonita Springs, in reference to a juvenile female who had been approached by a stranger. Deputies learned the female had been standing at a bus stop near a park. While at the bus stop, the female saw an older model minivan parked nearby with a white male inside.

The male stuck his head out of the driver’s side window and told the juvenile that he knew her mother and to get in the van with him. At that moment, a witness walked up to the female and asked her if she knew the person sitting in the van. At this point, the suspect drove away from the location.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately thirty years old, dark, medium length hair with large sideburns, no facial hair, wearing a white shirt with a red collar. He was also wearing sun glasses.

The vehicle is described as an older model blue minivan (unknown make or model), black rims, very dirty.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000 or, to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward, S.W. Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS
