Fort Myers grocery store robbed
Detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit are searching for the man who robbed a Fort Myers grocery store.
Deputies were dispatched to the Winn-Dixie at 14600 Palm Beach Blvd. at 7:47 p.m. Monday, in reference to a robbery.
An employee working at the service counter told deputies she observed a white male, described as around 5 foot 8 inches tall and thin with brown hair and blue eyes wearing a blue sweatshirt and black jeans, enter the front of the store and then quickly exit. The man then reentered the store and approached the counter where he demanded money. The clerk opened the register and stepped back. The suspect reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from register. The robber fled the scene on foot and headed westbound toward the Fort Myers Shores neighborhood. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured.
