The members of From Our Hearts would like to thank all those that volunteered, donated, and bought items at our Garage Fest on January 16, 2010. Because of the communities support we raised $1,897.02. In addition to raising funds, we had an opportunity provide donated blankets and warm clothing to local families that are in need.

We would also like to share the contents of a letter received from Janet Darnell, Program Director of Partner’s for Breast Cancer Care. The money raised by ‘From Our Hearts’ is granted to PfBCC and Lee Cancer Care who use it to provide Breast Cancer care to qualifying patients in the Pine Island – Matlacha area.

“Dear From Our Hearts,

One behalf of our entire Board and staff of Partners for Breast Cancer Care we would like to thank you for your generous donation of $5,000. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to continue our mission to save lives in Lee County.

Partners for Breast Cancer Care continues to grow each year and provide access to breast care services for low-income, uninsured men and women in Lee County. The Partners in Health network, physicians, diagnostic centers and hospitals, provide our clients with car at a reduced fee and this donation will help us cover those costs. During our last fiscal year, June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009, PfBCC screened over 2,000 women and men needing breast health care. From June 1, 2009 to November 30, 2009 we have helped 822 Lee County residents. Our patients are seen at no cost to them and your donation will pay for several diagnostic treatments for people who otherwise could not afford it. As you can image, we expect our statistics to continue to grow.

Your generosity will help us to make a very real difference in Lee County. Together we are actually changing lives; not only the lives of our patients, but also the lives of their families. We just cannot thank you enough. From Our Hearts has a very special place in our hearts
