Two sought in bank robbery
On Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at 9:57 a.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a bank robbery. The incident occurred at the SunTrust Bank, 14490 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida. Deputies were dispatched to the bank.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed two masked gunmen entered the bank and demanded cash. A bank teller complied and the two suspects exited the building with an undisclosed amount of cash. They were described as approximately 5’7” to 5’9″ tall, possibly Hispanic males, wearing jeans and grayish-white, hooded sweatshirts. The pair were seen leaving in a white, Nissan. No one was injured during the robbery.
Deputies began looking for the suspect vehicle and located one matching the description in the Fort Myers Shores area. Additionally, a witness confirmed seeing two male subjects exit the car. They then entered a small red vehicle nearby, before driving away. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are continuing to investigate.
