Special to The Eagle The winner of this year’s Christmas tree raffle, Karen Villani of Bokeelia poses with her prize.

Just in time for Christmas, the folks at SunTrust Bank drew the lucky winner for this year’s charity fund raiser Christmas tree raffle. The winner was Karen Villani of Bokeelia who re-gifted the fully decorated tree to her mother to enjoy this holiday season. Drawing the ticket on the morning of Friday, Dec. 18, the tree was adorned with exquisite ornaments courtesy of Michael Robson, owner of Miss Lucy’s House of Holidays and in Fort Myers. The winning ticket was sold to Villani by St. James City resident, Pink Wesorick.

The money raised through raffle ticket sales will benefit the Pine Island Food Pantry. The $600 dollars raised will help to feed the needy families of greater Pine Island.

“We are sincerely thankful to SunTrust Bank, Miss Lucy’s House of Holidays and to all those who purchased raffle tickets,” said Barb LaPlante, pantry treasurer. “We are so very grateful for the support we receive from local businesses and the Pine Island community and this money will go a long way when feeding the hungry this holiday season.”
