New book highlights photos of area beaches
The high-anticipated fourth collection of photographs from Alan S. Maltz is now available, just in time for holiday giving. Visions of Beauty – Fort Myers, Sanibel & Beyond takes us on a magical journey through the natural beauty, wildlife and man-made marvels of Florida’s enchanting Southwest.
This original book of remarkably beautiful images captures the seclusion and mystique of the outer islands, the history and charm of old Fort Myers and the hidden treasurers of Sanibel and Captiva Islands, as well as views from popular designations such as Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Boca Grande, Cayo Costa, Pine Island and Estero.
Visions of Beauty – Fort Myers, Sanibel & Beyond is the fourth of Maltz’s large-format Florida coffee table books and the first to focus on Southwest Florida. This collection of stunning art is as impressive as its predecessors. His first two acclaimed books, Key West Color (1995) and Miami City of Dreams (1997), have best best sellers single publication and are considered classics in their field.
Florida Beyond the Blue Horizon (2006) was selected as the “official coffee table book of Super Bowl XLI” and received numerous awards, including “Best Florida Book for Adults” and “Best Interior Design” by the Florida Publishers Association.
Sixty of the works from the book are on permanent display at the Midfield Terminal of Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers. The project was commissioned by the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau in collaboration with the Lee County Port Authority to reflect the diversity and charm that are characteristic of Lee County.
Maltz is an award-winning author and fine art photographer based in Key West.
He has been designated the “Official Fine Art Photographer for the State of Florida” by VISIT Florida and “The official Wildlife photographer of Florida” by the Wildlife Foundation of Florida.
