Woman escapes car in canal
A woman sustained minor injuries after driving into a canal Tuesday morning in southeast Cape Coral.
The woman, whose name, age and address was unavailable, drove into the canal in the 600 block of Southeast 33rd Street at approximately 8 a.m. According to Connie Barron, spokeswoman for the Cape Coral Police Department, the blue 2000 Ford vehicle was completely submerged.
“The vehicle ran off a driveway and into a canal,” she said. “They pulled the car out of the canal and towed it away on a flatbed.”
The woman escaped from the vehicle with minor injuries, Barron reported.
“She did make it out of the vehicle,” she said.
“It did not end up being too serious of an incident, although it certainly could have been,” Barron added.
