A 2-year-old boy died this morning after being bitten by the family dog.
Cape police, fire and EMS were called to a report of an animal bite with injuries at 7:41 a.m. in the 200 block of Southeast 45th Terrace.
The child was transported by EMS to Cape Coral Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The dog, a Weimaraner, was confiscated by Lee County Animal Control.
