Gary L. Neff
Surrounded by his family, Gary L. Neff, 68, of Warren and St. James City, Fla., died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009. He passed after a short but courageous battle with cancer at Hospice House of the Valley. He was born Nov. 10, 1941 in Youngstown the son of the late Irvin F. and Gertrude J. (Burtner) Neff.
Gary was a 1959 graduate of Canfield High School and a 1970 graduate of YSU with a bachelor’s degree in business. Currently he was the owner, with his wife, of Affordable Rentals in the Warren. He had previously owned and operated Neff Painting. Gary retired in 1982, after 19 years service, from Delphi Packard Electric, where he was a general supervisor in Employee Development. He was a founder of the Trumbull County Real Estate Investors Association.
Gary was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Warren. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and managing his business. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Ward Neff, whom he married in 1962; one son, Chris (Lisa) Neff of Howland; one daughter, Becki (David) Brown of Marietta; four grandchildren, Bradley, Brian and Boyd Brown and Jennifer Neff. He adored his dogs, KiKi and Ditto. Gary had one brother, Richard (Jeri) Neff of Boardman; a brother-in-law, Jack MacLoughlin of Canfield and a special aunt, Olive Baker of Champion. He is also survived by four nieces and a nephew. His sister, Linda MacLoughlin preceded him in death.
The family was receives by friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ, 280 E. Market St. Warren, Ohio and one hour prior to the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the church. Pastor Walter Coy will officiate. Arrangements were handled by the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren.
