To the Editor:

Just a notice to the businesses in Matlacha, you want business, you need business, so you have an art weekend every second weekend of the month and then you close your doors at 5 p.m., leaving the people who traveled here with nothing to do but leave. I had friends, “artists,” travel here from Orlando to join in the “party” on Saturday. When we drove into town, all but two of the stores were closed. Needless to say, they won’t be back and neither will the 50 or more people that stopped in Island Visions (who were open) and couldn’t believe the town was closed down. I’m sure Monday morning when you open your doors you will be complaining that business is bad. Unbelievable.
