A grocery store employee is facing four drug-related felonies after she sold prescriptions drugs to an undercover detective, police said Tuesday.
Lise Jacques, 44, of 3722 Luzton St., Fort Myers, sold 35 Oxycodone tablets while she worked at the meat department at the Publix at 2420 Santa Barbara Blvd. S., Cape Coral police said in a prepared statement.
She has been charged with two counts of selling an opium derivative within 1,000 feet of a school and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Jacques’ arrest is the result of a two-month investigation by the Vice, Narcotics and Intelligence Unit. The investigation began after police received a tip that she was selling her prescription pills at the store, officials said.
In mid-October, arrangements were made for an undercover detective to purchase 15 Oxycodone tablets for $300. According to officials, the detective met Jacques outside the meat department and was directed to a hallway leading to an emergency exit at the rear of the store.
Jacques pulled a pill bottle from her purse, retrieved a plastic baggie from the bottle and handed it to the detective, officials said. The bag contained the 15 Oxycodone tablets.
A second buy was arranged when undercover detectives met Jacques on her meal break outside the store. Jacques told the detectives to follow her vehicle to a parking lot just west of the store, where she sold them 20 Oxycodone tablets for $350, according to police.
Both reported drug sales were within 1,000 feet of Cape Coral High School.
Cape officers with the Street Crimes Unit arrested Jacques at the Publix Supermarket at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers discovered Oxycodone, Vicodin and Xanax in Jacques’ possession, officials said. She did not have a valid prescription for the Vicodin or Xanax and was charged with possession.
She was booked and transported to the Lee County Jail.
