Love shown on Pine Island

By Staff | Nov 18, 2009

To the editor:

Living on Pine Island for over 20 years, we have learned exactly what being a part of the “Pine Island Family” has meant. We have attended benefits for people over the years on the giving end and happy to do so. But, recently, due to our son’s death, we were on the receiving end.

In these difficult times, the people on Pine Island came to the aid of our family. From one end of the island to the other, Matlacha, Bokeelia, St. James City, all walks of life, all came together to help. The Ragged Ass Saloon and its patrons put on a benefit for our son. Everyone from the “Biker” family to business owners, people from every walk of life. Also, the United Methodist Church and it’s congregation for the wonderful service, Sunset Flowers for the beautiful flowers, DS&S for the patches, the list goes on and on.

We are forever grateful for the expression of generosity, support and love our Pine Island Family has shown. And will always be remembered by the family of Donald Robert Sandelier, Jr.
