AAA Auto Club South to host Identity Theft Workshop with LifeLock
AAA Auto Club South and LifeLock will host an identity theft workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AAA Auto Club South, Fort Myers office located at 2516 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers. A lunch and Learn Identity Theft Workshop will help educate Florida customers on the growing threat of identity theft. In partnership with the industry leading identity theft protection service LifeLock, AAA will provide members of the community with an inside look at the growing threats of identity theft as well as options available to help protect them.
Florida is the number 3 state in the nation for identity theft complaints per 100,000 population and Orlando is ranked as the number 53 metropolitan area for identity theft complaints. According to Javelin Strategy and Research, an estimated 9.9 million Americans were victims of identity theft last year, with reported incidents hitting a five-year high. The Federal Trade Commission has reported that Florida is the number 3 state in the nation for identity theft complaints per 100,000 population.
