Boat for Hope is Sunday

By Staff | Nov 14, 2009

The Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Eagles will host an inaugural Boat for Hope on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Cape Coral Yacht Club.
The event will start with boaters gathering at Cape Coral Yacht Club and traveling south on the Caloosahatchee River to Tarpon Point Marina.
Each boat that takes part in the event is required to raise a minimum of $100 in sponsorships to participate in the event for Hope Hospice.
An awards ceremony will be held at Tarpon Point Marina to recognize the top fund raisers, along with the event sponsors later Sunday afternoon.
Prizes will include a weekend for two at Silver Sands Resort on Fort Myers Beach or a free one-year membership to SeaTow.
“Our aerie wanted to support a local charity and many members have received end of life care from the staff of Hope Hospice,” Cape Coral Auxiliary President Judy Cotter said in a prepared statement. “We hope the community will join us to aid this great organization.”
Boaters who participate in the event are encouraged to ride in support of or in memory of a loved one.
For information call Judy Cotter at (239) 945-0409) or Andy Bergersen at (239) 826-3702.
