The “Spacebox Storage – Damien Garcia Golf Benefit” held Saturday, Oct. 24, at Royal Tee Golf Club for critically injured Cape Coral
Police Officer Damien Garcia was a huge success and raised $5,700, according to organizers.
Garcia was involved in a motorcycle accident on June 2 while on duty and air-lifted to Miami, where he is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Golf benefit organizer Steve Shortino, property manager for Spacebox Storage, said, “It was a total community effort, and I wish to personally thank the golfers, sponsors, media, private citizens, volunteers and friends who assisted in making this a successful benefit, especially during tough financial times. The proceeds will go directly toward Damien’s medical/ aftercare expenses.”
