Cape Coral Police Detective Steven Petrovich has resigned from the department effective Thursday, Nov. 5, according to a brief prepared statement issued by the Cape Coral Police Department Friday.
Petrovich, who is the son of Cape Coral Police Chief Rob Petrovich, has been an officer with the department for 11 years.
Petrovich had been on administrative duty since Sept. 14 pending the outcome of an investigation being conducted by federal authorities.
No charges have been filed at this time, officials said, and details relating to the investigation have not been released.
Petrovich’s salary was $64,084.
