Earlier this week, local media reported the appointment withdrawal of Court Operations Deputy Anthony Rivera at the conclusion of an Internal Affairs investigation which alleged violation of Sheriff’s Office policy with regard to truthfulness. As of this morning, the discipline was rescinded and Deputy Rivera has been reinstated to his position.

The action comes after preparations for Civil Service Board review of his case was underway. The review revealed the deputy did not understand the context of questioning related to a separate Internal Affairs investigation, which he had been called to testify as a witness. This latest review of the complaint prompted the decision by Sheriff Mike Scott to reinstate Deputy Rivera.

The discipline related to the investigation witnessed by Deputy Rivera has not been affected.
