In Fort Myers, Main and Heitman Streets will close at approximately 5 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 until approximately 10 a.m. o Sunday, Oct. 24 while crews place the final layer of asphalt on portions of Main and Monroe Streets near the Main/Heitman intersection as part of the City of Fort Myers Downtown Utility and Streetscape Improvements Project. During this time, there will be no access to US 41 or McGregor Boulevard via Heitman and Main Streets.

To access US 41 during the Main and Monroe Street closures, motorists may travel west on First Street/West First Street, left on Altamont Avenue through the traffic light on McGregor Boulevard to Victoria Street to US 41 (Cleveland Ave.). A second alternate route to access US 41 is south on Broadway, west on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, south on Monroe Street, west on Victoria Street to north/south US 41.
