Fall Home, Garden Show returns to city
Cape Coral’s Fall Home and Garden Show is setting up shop again this weekend at the Coralwood Mall.
Entering its third year, the Home and Garden Show will offer 20,000 square feet of space for home improvement seekers. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
Kitchens, bathrooms, patios — every part of the house — will be available for interested homeowners looking to upgrade on their investments.
Andrea Myer, of the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association, said that despite the city’s ongoing foreclosure and home abandonment crisis, responsible homeowners are making changes to their properties.
“People who are staying in their homes are working on them,” she said.
Though this year’s show will not feature personalities from Home and Garden Television, a feature of last year’s event, it will have representatives from Lowes Home Improvement stores on hand.
Lowes also will hold children’s clinics and hurricane preparedness sessions.
“Even though hurricane season is winding down, it’s always good to be prepared,” Myer said.
The 20,000 square feet will be air-conditioned, with windows, doors and electricity, she added. Exhibit space is still available.

The Home and Garden Show will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
