St. James City man fatally injured in motorcycle crash

St. James City resident Donald Sandelier, 50, was fatally injured Wednesday, Sept. 30, after he lost control of his 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed on the eastbound shoulder of Stringfellow Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The single-vehicle accident took place at 11:03 p.m. at a curve in the road just south of Turtle Trail in St. James City.

Sandelier and his passenger, Robin Archer, 38, also of St. James City, were headed northbound on Stringfellow Road when the accident occurred, according to reports.

Sandelier was pronounced dead at the scene. Archer, who was ejected from the bike, was transported to Cape Coral Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, authorities said.

The accident remains under investigation by the FHP.
