Marijuana grow house discovered in Fort Myers

By Staff | Oct 6, 2009

An anonymous tip led investigators to a grow house containing plants worth an estimated $356,000, officials said Tuesday.
The tip led detectives to 15620 Glendale Lane. They spoke with the homeowner, later identified as Jorge Sanchez, 67, and Sanchez gave detectives permission to search his property, officials said.
Once inside, an elaborate marijuana cultivation operation was discovered. Detectives seized 89 marijuana plants worth an estimated street value of $356,000, officials said.
Sanchez was charged with trafficking in marijuana, marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana producing equipment.
Members of the Bonita Narcotics Group, the P.I.L.S. Unit, and Delta District deputies assisted with the operation.
