Main Street at Heitman Street will close at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 until noon on Sunday, Oct. 4 while crews begin roadway restoration work in the Main/Heitman intersection as part of the City of Fort Myers downtown utility and streetscape improvements project. During this time, there will be no access to U.S. 41 or McGregor Boulevard via Heitman or Main Streets.

To access U.S. 41 during the Main Street and Monroe Street closures, motorist may travel west one First Street/West First Street, left on Altamont Avenue through the traffic light on McGregor Boulevard to Victoria Street to U.S. 41 (Cleveland Avenue). A second alternate route to access U.S. 41 is south on Broadway, west on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, south on Monroe Street, west on Victoria Street to north/south U.S. 41 A map of the closure and alternate routes to U.S. 41 is available on the project Web site at fmstreetscape.com
