Night at the Museum: Author’s Evening welcomes back award-winning local author Robert Macomber

Prepare to be captivated by Pine Island’s best-selling author Robert Macomber’s stories of traveling the high seas to write and research his seventh book, “The Honored Dead.”
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, the Southwest Florida Museum of History hosts the second session of the 2009-2010 Author’s Evening Series beginning at 6:30 p.m., featuring Robert Macomber.
The events are held the second Wednesday of each month from September though April, at the SWFL Museum of History, and highlight authors from a variety of genres. In addition to a presentation by the featured author and a meet-and-greet book signing, the evening also includes dessert courtesy of Mason’s Bakery. The cost is only a $10 per-person donation (tax-deductible) to the SWFL Museum of History Foundation, and all funds raised support special exhibitions and educational programming.
The Fall series (Sept. – Dec.) meets 6:30-8:00 pm while the Spring series (Jan. – Apr.) sessions will be 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
Robert Macomber returns for his third consecutive season to also discuss his newest book, “The Honored Dead.” This seventh novel of the award-winning Honor Series finds Lt. Cmdr. Peter Wake, Office of Naval Intelligence, aboard a riverboat on the Mekong River, in 1883 French Indo-China. Based on actual events, Macomber’s maritime books feature engaging historical characters throughout his Honor Series which includes, ‘The Honored Dead’.
