SFWMD urges residents and businesses to conserve water

The South Florida Water Management District is closely monitoring water levels and is urging residents and businesses to conserve water and follow landscape irrigation restrictions to stretch the public supply.

Rainfall levels to date have been down and are as follows.

As of March 10, 2009:

Rainfall to date, Jan. 2 to March 10 : +0.84 inches

Deficit to date, Jan. 2 to March 10 : -4.45 inches

Dry season deficit, Nov. 2, 2008 to March 10: 17.51 inches

Lake Okeechobee, March 10, 2009: 12.54 feet – March 10, 2008: 10.13 feet
