I would like to extend a huge Matlacha shout-out of thanks for the extremely generous help and multitude of donations for the Feb. 7 Lions Club Mayor’s Race held at Bert’s Bar and Grill. Most of all, thank you to my campaign manager, a giant spirit in tiny human form, Darlene Snyder, whose unending energy and verve are truly awe-inspiring! Also, Nancy Goodwin, for your wonderful advice, support and tireless work on this project. Special thanks to Bernard Johnson for the generous use of Bert’s Bar and all its resources; and to Kim, Lisa, Woody, Carrie, Nichole, Maddie, Jennie, Janinine, and all my friends and co-workers at Bert’s; to Pine Bay for your help and support; to Big Bob from Wing Nuts, who stepped up and made the auction a success; and to Marianne Paton for writing not one but two stories for the Eagle, to raise awareness of readers.
