Proud to call Obama my president

By Staff | Jan 28, 2009

To the editor:

If you think for one second President Barack Hussein Obama plans to back down from anyone or any challenge, think again.

In two days, Barack Obama has demonstrated more leadership qualities than I’ve seen in countless years. As the Bush-appointed Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court fumbled and bumbled his way through the 35-word Presidential Oath of Office, President Obama had the command presence to simply smile at Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. as he would Sasha and Malia as if they were reciting a poem incorrectly. It was obvious Obama felt sorry for the bumbling Chief Justice.

Yet again, President Obama demonstrated his natural leadership qualities by (1) suggesting to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to stand in front of him the next day one and perform the oath accurately and (2) admonishing Vice President Joe Biden for his sophomoric attack per the memory skills of our Chief Justice. This President is clearly demonstrating a no-nonsense approach to getting things correctly and zero tolerance threshold for unprofessional cowboy-like behavior.

This was a profound moment in our history. The first African American President smiling compassionately at The Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court as he screwed up a simple 35-word oath of office. As a demonstration of further compassion, Obama ordered no TV cameras to witness the second attempt by The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. There is a bright side to all of this. Chief Justice John G. Roberts completely invalidated the theory of one race being superior to another. The 2009 Emancipation Proclamation is playing out right before our very eyes.

I am so proud to call Barack Hussein Obama my President and Commander in Chief. America made a remarkable and courageous choice. We are already witnessing greatness.
