A juried “ART EXPO” will showcase the talents of our Greater Pine Island Artists on Saturday evening February 28 and Sunday March 1 at the St. James City Civic Association building. Fine art, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography, metal-art, mixed media and other 2/D and 3/D art forms will be included. Only work handcrafted and created by the artist will be accepted. No factory made items, machine-molded items or imports will be accepted.

The ART EXPO opens Feb. 28, with a “meet the artists” reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Show hours Sunday, March 1, are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both days are open to the public with no admittance charge. The location is 4th and Lemon, St. James City, and there is ample public parking.

Applications will be available to pick up at Pine Island Printing LLC 1094 Stringfellow Rd, Bokeelia one half mile North of The Center; The Potter’s Workshop and Gallery at 3058 Stringfellow Rd, St. James City; The Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce on Pine Island Rd. Matlacha; the St. James City Civic Assn. at Fourth and Lemon; or by calling 283-9337 or 283-7141. A $15 non-refundable jury fee must accompany all applications. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 2. Mailing address is P.O. Box 605, St. James City, FL 33956. Notice of acceptance will be mailed or telephoned by Feb. 12.

A 10% commission on all art sold will be paid to the SJCCA at the close of the show on Feb. 28, 2009.
