Cabana Construction plans to start installing pipe for the Greater Pine Island Water Association the week of May 25. The Phase 1 graphic shows work to be done this year. The pipe in blue is being installed via conventional open cut trenching, and the area in red is via horizontal directional drill in the area of sensitive environment.

According to the GPIWA, the purpose of the project is to replace circa 1966 pipe and install valves as part of continued infrastructure improvements. The project will begin on the east side of the 7-Eleven and extend for approximately 3,400 linear feet to the Little Pine Island Bridge.

In subsequent years, GPIWA will undertake additional phases to replace the water main all the way to the new Fire Station. For additional information or if you have questions contact GPIWA General Manager Laurie Adams at 239-283-1071 or email ladams@pineislandwater.com
