Islander thanks community for support

May 15, 2019
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all your prayers, love and support you have given me over the past weeks. From the time Wink went into the hospital, to his passing and after. These years I had with Wink made me understand what loving and being loved by someone really meant. We were always together. I am trying to get used to him not being here.

I am thankful for the 28 years of being able to go to a job I truly loved. I have made so many dear friends. Both human and furry! I look forward to running into ya'll when out and about on Pine Island.

Thank you to all my co-workers for your love and friendship over the years, especially these past several weeks.

God has a plan for me, just not sure what it is yet. I have been on my own since I was 17. I think I've got this. My current situation is not my permanent situation. I have my health and for everyone who keeps askingI am not moving to Tennessee. Wink was always telling me, "The only thing certain, is everything changes."

One last thing. Let's get back to remembering Wink, and he (nor I) would want people saying hurtful things about each other. All Wink wanted was for us to sit around and remember all the good times and to say nice things about him.

The Celebration of his Life will be Sunday, May 19, at 11 a.m., at Capt'n Cons.

Hope to see you there!

With deep appreciation & love
