Winston "Wink" Delano Coleman

Winston "Wink" Delano Coleman, born 16 February 1942, passed away peacefully in his home in Bokeelia on April 30, 2019, with his wife Debbe Coleman, and his cat Rebeus, by his side.

Wink grew up on Cayo Costa and attended Boca Grande School. At the age of 17, Wink joined the Army. He was stationed in France for 3 years, followed by several tours in Thailand, Germany, and Korea. Wink became a Warrant Officer 3, Instructor Helicopter Pilot. He then went to Vietnam 3 times. After the war he was stationed in Oklahoma at Ft Sill. Remitted to active duty after military retirement due to outstanding knowledge, experience, and reputation in the marine field. Wink then transitioned to the marine division of the army where he excelled even more. Wink was Captain of a landing craft. Wink helped implement and create the US Coast Guard Captain's Licensing and testing platform. Upon civilian life, Wink worked for City of Tampa Police Dept, Lee County Sheriff's Office, and the City of Ft Myers Police Dept. Upon Retirement, Wink was a commercial fisherman then ran his own cruise boat business to Cayo Costa, Cabbage Key and Boca Grande.

Wink was pre-deceased by his parents Shelly Elias Coleman and Lillian Josephine Gomez, his brothers Pat Coleman, Son Coleman, and Carl Coleman; His sisters Nadine Darna, Fannie Coleman, and Freda Lolly; his grand-daughter Cierra Parks. He is survived and missed by his wife Deborah Coleman; His sister Ruby Harrison; His daughters Lori Segur, Brandi Coleman, and step-daughter Melissa Koferl (John); grand-children Jesse Messer (Paige), Ryan Messer (Cherie), Kari Messer, Nikki Atamanchuk (Chris), Angel Clark and Jada McColgin, his 6 great grand-children (and twin girls on the way). He will also be missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and the many friends he's made.
