By ED FRANKS ( , Pine Island Eagle

Last week the Matlacha Hookers presented a check to F.I.S.H. ( (Friendly Islanders Sending Help) for $3,160. F.I.S.H. president Dianne Higgins accepted the check.

"These are proceeds from the annual Christmas Caroling the Hookers do," Joanne Corrcia said. "What was interesting this year is many, many places asked up to come back. We did about 25 stops between St. James City and Matlacha over two weekends. We also discovered the more we go out, the more money we raise. We had so much fun singing this year."

F.I.S.H. is an all-volunteer association of neighbors organized to help those living in the Matlacha and Pine Island communities. From its early beginnings in the 1980s, Pine Island F.I.S.H. has grown to an organization of more than 75 members providing many valuable services.
