The parking for this Saturday's Bike Night has changed to keep both motorcyclists and pedestrians safe.

"We are still learning to work with the new venue and streetscape," said City of Cape Coral Special Events Coordinator Todd King.

The Streetscape project includes the narrowing of the roads.

He said the police and fire made the decision to do special parking for motorcycles, leaving the streets for pedestrians. Motorcyclists can park in the parking lot across from Cape Vineyard Church, behind Iguana Mia, or in the overflow parking at Club Square.

According to the city, bikes can turn onto Southeast 10th Place from Cape Coral Parkway and turn right to park in the lot behind Iguana Mia, or turn onto Southeast 10th Place from Cape Coral Parkway and turn left to park in the lot across from Cape Vineyard Church. The overflow parking will be in the designated Club Square area.

King said there are several supporting restaurants and vendors in that space as well.

The Saturday, Dec. 8, event will feature live music from Bite the Bullet from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Crazy Babies, Ozzy Rebourne from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"It's a pretty popular event in Southwest Florida," King said of the Cape's Bike Night.

He said they are doing a Six Bends Harley Show Bike Arena at the Saturday event for those who think they have the coolest bike in town.

"Bring it to the arena and get it registered," King said, which is free.

The three coolest bikes will win a $100 Six Bends gift card.
