Promoted as America's largest and most realistic dinosaur event, Jurassic Quest came to the Lee Civic Center over the weekend.

Quite possibly the best depiction of a child's obsession with dinosaur theme parks was captured in a famous quote from the 1994 movie "Clifford," where Martin Short played a 10-year-old boy who says, "I believe that Dinosaur World is the only place where a boy like me can be happy."

It is true, Jurassic Quest is a place for imagine and wonder for children. It is a place where the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the triceratops and the pterodactyl come to life. Children all ages took their parents around a large warehouse full of motion-sensored dinosaurs where they were their family's own tour guides.

Tyrannosaurus rex, the triceratops and the pterodactyl were among the giant reptiles to come to life at the Lee County Civic Center this past weekend.

The Jurassic Quest experience is an opportunity for children to showcase their knowledge of dinosaurs-which virtually every elementary school incorporates into their curriculum. It was a place where children can debate evolution while interacting with the enormous creatures they read about in books. Undoubtedly, it is an educational experience and breathtaking childhood experience.

Jurassic Quest has more than 100 true-to-life size dinosaurs in each of its events. In collaboration with leading paleontologists, each one is painstakingly replicated in every detail. Whether their prehistoric counterpart had skin that was scaly, had feathers or fur, Jurassic Quest has spared no expense in bringing this realism to life. In Jurassic Quests Dinosaur World, the dinosaurs roar and move, some even walk around. At a Jurassic Quest event, there's a sometimes-blurry line between our visitors watching the dinosaurs and the dinosaurs watching them.

On top of that, the kids got to experience rides such as riding on a real-size dinosaur of their choice, or jumping around in a bouncy-house slide. They also got their own dinosaur backpack, equipped with a toy-sized dinosaur they get to walk around with all day-does the name Stephan ring a bell? (Another Clifford reference).

Jurassic Quest also had a Dinosaur Petting zoo where little ones could pet dinosaurs that are more their size and take photos. do crafts, Dino Science stations, Visit the fossil area in the Dinosaur Museum and see real dinosaur fossils dating back over 60 million years.

For parents, the best part of Jurassic Quest was to see their children's fascination with dinosaurs.
