Let those who benefit pay for schools’ tax increase

To the editor:

A recent headline "School district touts proposed sales tax" immediately caught my attention.

The taxing agencies of all levels of government have an insatiable voracious appetite for others people's money. There is never enough and it is inconceivable for the taxer to do with less.

And the taxers have a disdain for those who oppose them.

In this particular case, as in most, the money is needed for the most of benevolent purposes. However, the article fails to point out the high number of older and retired people who have no children in the schools. It fails to mention the number of properties that are seasonally rented or occupied. So the school district has a huge number of tax- paying property owners with no children in the schools.

I have an insane idea. Let the people who have children in the school pony up the money for once.
