Century 21 Sunbelt Realty of Pine Island to host Fourth Annual 'Incredible Shredable' Day to benefit Pine Island Food Pantry

March 16, 2018
Pine Island Eagle

Pine Island residents are invited to get their shred on - and get rid of sensitive documents such as bank, legal and medical records - in a safe and secure manner while supporting the Pine Island Food Pantry during the 2nd annual "Incredible Shredable Day" sponsored by Century 21 Sunbelt Realty of Pine Island.

From 10 a.m. to noon today March 21, residents who bring five canned goods for each file-sized box of documents to the Century 21 Pine Island Plaza, 10191 Stringfellow Road, will have their documents shredded securely and safely by Shred IT.

Century 21 Realtors came up with the idea of the Incredible Shredable Day when they realized they weren't the only ones who needed to shred documents.

"As a realty office, we need to keep our records for a certain number of years, but when that time has passed, we want to make sure that these sensitive documents are being safely disposed of," said Mike Shevlin, Century 21 Sunbelt Managing Broker on Pine Island. "The most efficient way for us to get rid of our own documents was to hire a company that specializes in getting rid of them. Then we thought there were probably a lot of us on the island who had documents that needed to be shredded. Why not make it a new way to help our neighbors?"
