'Leave it up North …'

March 14, 2018
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

One of the very first things I learned about Florida was from a forum called City Data where you can ask questions about the any area in America. I found out that many of the people that live here in Florida hate it most when they hear new people from the North say "that's not the way we did it up North."

What I realized before I stepped foot on Pine Island was that I was not going to come here with the idea that I'm going to change things and that I'm going to support things the way they are and I knew it was not going to be a perfect world - just try to live with it.

The very first thing new people do is try to make things like it was back home. They bring this crap with them ... we all know someone who is a perfect example of this and they don't have a clue because they are so full of themselves they can't see past the tip of their nose.

Pine Island and Matlacha are the last of "Old Florida" and people are coming here with their ways to destroy it. So, you say you have a different agenda, well, leave it up North, where you came from, we don't like your different agenda.
