To the editor:

The Friends of the Pine Island Library would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with the February Book Sale. We appreciate using the fellowship hall at the Fishers of Men Lutheran Church that room seems big until we start unpacking cartons of books! We also want to give a huge thanks to the young PILOT volunteers from the Methodist Church who always make the packing and cleaning up a speedy process.

Members of the Friends of Library and the Pine Island business community were very generous with their donations for the gift drawings. Board members Barb Riordan and Tricia McDowell created a Baking Bonanza, which was won by Carol Johnson. A Puzzle Challenger, donated by Board members Ellen Ballard and Deirdre Steiner, was won by Ruth Homan. Several people donated to create a Pine Island Time basket which was won by new member Pat Trask. The always popular Gift Certificate Valentine was taken home by Edna Way. We hope she is enjoying all the fun gift certificates! Linda Wells Bohannan created an overflowing basket that she called Organize, Reward, Relax and Sharon and Larry McLauchlin now can use Linda's personal organizing services and more!

We couldn't do this without the support and contributions of book donors on the island. If you have books that you would like to donate, they can be dropped off at the library. If you have lots of books to donate, we will make arrangements to pick them up at your house. To all of you who came to re-stock your bookshelves, we thank you. Your generous support will help us continue to support great programming at the Pine Island Library. We now have eight months ahead of us to stock up and get ready for our next book sale in December!
