Next Saturday, March 17, J.M. Barlow, author of "He Should be Dead a true story of murders and miracles," will be at Pine Island Cove Clubhouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

According to Amazon Books, "'He Should Be Dead' is an amazing true story about an ordinary man (Harry Haskins) who overcame extraordinary circumstances."

Haskins is described as a man who grew up in Detroit, found himself in danger numerous times and lived to tell about them. In addition, he lost his sister and her husband in a heinous crime. Haskins may seem to be a regular guy, but underneath his calm demeanor are many secrets. This book tells the story of a man who lived on the edge, and the murders that changed his life.

Haskins resides on Pine Island today.

Amazon reviewers have called the book gripping and hard to put down. "Ms. Barlow really brought me into a world that I know nothing about -- growing up in hard-scrabble Michigan. The effects of such a tough environment are seen in the life of Harry Haskins and his extended family."

About the author from the Amazon website: "J.M. Barlow has spent over thirty years as a licensed business professional... Barlow is active in her church and enjoys writing Christian music for God's glory. She has always had a passion for true crime books, especially those written from a Christian perspective. J. M. lives in NC with her husband and greyhound rescues."
