An open letter to the Lee County Commissioners

October 25, 2017
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

You can tell you are politicians and not businessmen. Here's an idea for you. Rent a couple of chippers. Take them to the neighborhoods, let your maintenance men feed the tree debris and pile in a truck, which I'm sure you have plenty of. I see enough of the pickups driving around. Pick an empty lot in the neighborhood your are doing. Dump the bark, let the neighbors have the mulch for free. So you have it cleaned up, yards looking better. Then Waste Pro can pick up the little bit that would be left like they do every week. Just a thought.

P.S. Matlacha isn't that big and it's a month since the hurricane. Yards are still piled with tree debris.
