'Terrific' singers, dancers create magical performance at Cultural Park Theatre

To the editor:

On Sunday July 23, there was a matinee at the Cultural Park Theatre that was so very wonderful I feel compelled to tell you about it in the hopes that the next time you see an ad for one of their productions, you wont hesitate to go.

"Standing O" was a 2 1/2-hour show of music and dancing that was better then anything I have ever seen in New York or Chicago. The theme was "be true to yourself" and "do your best" as told through a medley of items from musicals from 1990 to the present. As there was no program, I am unable to name any of the shows except "OZ." Terrific is the best word for the singers and dancers. Each was a star and they played together in a wonderful harmony that I felt enchanted - not only me but the rest of the audience also.

The performers were young people with voices that were clear and strong and evidence of really wonderful gifted talent. Didn't count them but I would estimate about 50 or more.

Tickets were a reasonable $20 and very well worth it. I would attend it again if it were showing again. So if you missed it, you really missed it. Future programs include more musicals as well as comedy and dramas. Check out their programs and don't miss another.
