Early results back for residents' response to island incorporation question

In June, the Greater Pine Island Civic Association sent out a letter and a prepaid postcard to Pine Island / Matlacha voters asking residents whether the "GPICA should continue to investigate incorporation'" or "GPICA should not continue to investigate incorporation."

The deadline for returning the postcards was Friday, July 21, 2017. Preliminary poll results from as of July 24 indicate that 80 percent of the respondents are in favor of incorporation.

The final results will be announced at the first GPICA meeting of the season.
