Radicalism by any name is a threat to human freedom

To the editor:

Sadly hiding behind the guise of political correctness in our nation today, as throughout the world, there is this movement of radical Islamic culture that does nothing more than teach the destruction, enslavement and prejudice toward all non-believers.

This movement for political correctness and tolerance calling for erasing hatred unfortunately provides a venue around the world for this Islamic radicalism. It replaces this so-called prejudice with a much greater prejudice and hatred against all of those who are considered infidels by their teachings.

This radicalism threatens the freedoms of our future generations that so many of our citizens fought and died for to preserve throughout the years.

Those placing their heads in the sand refusing to acknowledge this threat to our freedom do nothing more than enable these future threats.

Not that long ago in the 20th Century we saw a form radicalism in a "cleansing" movement by both Stalin and Hitler that left millions of dead across the world. Now again we face this global epidemic named radical Islamic terrorism. Does the idea of political correctness fail to recognize these future threats?

As stated by Helen Keller, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision."
