Calusa Land Trust thanks Pine Island community for the successful 2017 Rubber Duck Race

March 22, 2017
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

A round of applause for all the 60-plus volunteers who worked so diligently and the 100-plus business and individual donors who contributed so generously to make this year's Great Calusa Rubber Duck Race a big success!

A special thanks to Mango Tango Tropicals, Stearns Custom Builders, Allstate Aluminum and Century 21 Team Shevlin for their sponsorship of the 2017 Duck Race T-Shirts. Owners and staff of Low Key Tiki get a standing ovation for their cooperation, support and hustle while providing great food and outstanding service on Duck Day!

It truly takes a community to raise the money each year to acquire, manage and preserve the lands on this island that have been entrusted to the care of the Calusa Land Trust.

And a final salute and heartfelt "thank you" to all the wonderful Pine Islanders, snowbirds and visitors who so enthusiastically supported the Calusa Land Trust by buying Duck Race tickets, shirts, hats, etc., and joining us in a day of fun, food, auctions and racing ducks! Hope to see y'all next year!
