Century 21 Sunbelt Realty welcomes ‘Patty’ Harman

February 1, 2017
By ED FRANKS ( , Pine Island Eagle

Real estate broker Mike Shevlin and the staff at Sunbelt Realty welcomed a new real estate agent last week long-time Pine Island resident Carin "Patty" Harman.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Harman managed a Toys R Us store in Fort Myers for 17 years before entering the property management business.

"I managed properties first on Useppa Island and then on North Captiva," Harman said. "Then in 2006 I decided to get my real estate license. Of course, the real estate market crashed in 2007 but I believe that actually helped me because instead of rushing to get things done, I was able to spend the time necessary to learn how to do things properly."

Harman started her real estate career at Islander Realty on North Captiva and last year changed to North Captiva Realty.

"I had a really great opportunity there but my osteoarthritis began bothering me and my doctor thought the boat ride to and from North Captiva was affecting it and suggested something closer to home," Harman said. "I'm excited to be at Century 21 Sunbelt Realty the people are great and it's just 10 minutes from my house."

Harmon admits she knows the islands well.

"My husband and I were attracted to Pine Island because it reminds us of the small towns we grew up in," Harman said. "I've been on Pine Island for almost 30 years and became a permanent resident of the island in 1992. I am a buyer's connection to the barrier islands because I have years of experience working on Useppa, North Captiva and Cabbage Key. Plus I know Pine Island inside out."

The Century 21 Sunbelt Realty office is at 10191 Stringfellow Road, St. James City, FL 33956. Call 239-283-1100.
